Last night was the first time in months I chose to not turn my fan on. Instead, I decided to open my window to let the cool air in. It hasn't been anything but annoyingly warm and humid for so long. I think autumn is FINALLY arriving.
I've had enough of the hot weather. Mosquitoes coming out and attacking me whenever they can, the sweaty subway rides during my morning commute, the heat slapping me in the face with it's gross humidity... BE GONE. I am so ready for some nice breezy cold weather.
I'm ready to take out my jeans, boots, scarves and gloves. I'm ready to drink hot coffee without feeling like I'm on the surface of the sun. I'm ready to see the red and orange and yellow and brown colors that fall has to offer. That's the most beautiful part of fall... if you forget the fact that everything around you is dying.
Fall smells so good. It's like the scent of pumpkin and spices are always hanging in the air.
I wonder if I'll dress up for Halloween. Hmmm. I don't have anything planned. Ooh! And soon it'll be Thanksgiving. Ahhhh the one day of the year I don't care if I eat my weight in mashed potatoes and stuffing.
Here's to hoping that the hot weather doesn't return till spring!
